When practices seek billing support, they're often looking for more than someone to submit claims or call insurance companies. They're looking for confidence that issues will be handled, questions will be answered, and important details won't fall through the cracks.

That's the experience we strive to provide.

Clients can expect clear communication, organized processes, and dependable follow-through. We believe in setting realistic expectations, keeping people informed, and approaching challenges with patience and persistence.

Most importantly, we believe support should feel supportive. Whether you're facing a frustrating denial, navigating credentialing requirements, or simply trying to stay ahead of administrative tasks, our goal is to help you feel less overwhelmed and more confident moving forward.

Our approach is simple — tell us what you need and take a deep breath…

We’ll take it from there.

What it’s Like Working with Exhale

Meet the Founder

Hi — I'm Eric, founder of Exhale.

As long as I can remember, my mission has always been to help people. I’ve always had a genuine compassion for others, and a natural ability to communicate with people in a way that demonstrated my genuine care for them, and the issues they faced every day. Those natural skills helped me build a successful career in various leadership, operations, and client-facing roles where solving problems, improving systems, and supporting people under pressure were part of everyday life. During that time, I developed a reputation for staying calm in stressful situations, communicating clearly, and following through until real solutions were found.

Like many others, some personal challenges led me into my own therapeutic journey over the past several years. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the life-changing impact skilled mental health professionals can have.

Around that same season, I met Ren — a private practice therapist dedicated to helping others through her work (some of you may know her as the incredible Co-Founder of Hope Roots Collective in Olathe, Kansas 😉). We were married in 2024, and I began to see first hand the administrative workload she was carrying in addition to trying to be fully present for her clients. That burden eventually led to significant emotional stress for her, and financial stress for our family when insurance payments were severely delayed. When I heard Ren describe some of the issues with the insurance and billing systems therapists were forced to go through, her frustration turned into mine.

I’d always dreamed of starting my own business, and even considered becoming a therapist myself. After all, I went to college to become a pastor because I wanted to spend my life helping people in meaningful ways. Although I explored that path and was even accepted into grad school, I eventually realized the skills I’d developed throughout the years had prepared me for something different.

As I learned more about the administrative and insurance challenges therapists face, I began to recognize many of the same problems I had spent my career helping people solve – complex systems, delayed responses, denied transactions, unclear processes, and important work being slowed down by administrative barriers.

That’s when it became clear that the experience I had built in operations, problem-solving, and client support could be applied in a meaningful way to help therapists navigate the insurance and billing system with greater confidence. The same skills I had spent years developing — creating structure, improving processes, communicating through challenges, and following through until solutions were found—were the very skills many practices needed most.

And that’s why I took the leap and founded Exhale.

Because I believe therapists make an incredible impact on the lives of the people and communities they serve, and if I can help remove some of the administrative burden standing in their way, then I’m helping support that impact in my own way.

Based in the Kansas City area, I’m proud to support therapists in expanding access to care in their communities while helping build practices that can thrive for years to come.
